Computer Science opens more doors for students than any other discipline in today’s world. 71% of all new jobs in STEM are in computing. However, only 24% of computer scientists are women in the world today. In India there are more than 3 million computer programmers out of which only 25% are women. We believe that every girl should have the opportunity to learn computer science. It helps nurture problem-solving skills, logic and creativity.

Computing is where the jobs are – and where they will be in the future, but fewer than 1 in 5 computer science graduates are women.

The CodeHerFuture serves to convene, unite and strengthen voices speaking out for girls’ full and inclusive participation in tech and innovation around the world and it will focus on three key pillars: convene, collaborate and code. The campaign comes at a historic and pivotal moment for girls globally as the world’s attention is drawn to the growing importance of innovation for shaping the future.

Women Computer Scientists

In 1995, 37% of computer scientists were women. Today, it’s only 24%. If we do nothing, in ten years the number of women in computing will decrease to just 22%.
